Mischievous

6.0% | Brett-Fermented Wild Ale

This wild ale from Michigan’s New Holland is 100 percent fermented by Brettanomyces, lending it an earthiness, spice and mineral character, along with a modest tartness. Per the brewery’s recommendation, pair it with wild game, charcuterie or stone fruit.

Lawson’s Finest Liquids w/ Otter Creek Brewing Co.

Double or Nothing

10.5% | Barley Wine w/ Maple Syrup

Following their double IPA collaboration last year, Vermont-based breweries Lawson’s and Otter Creek have teamed up again. This time they’ve come up with a “divine” take on an American-style barley wine, brewed with Vermont maple syrup and aged on maple staves.

Modus Mandarina India Pale Ale

6.8% | India Pale Ale w/ Orange Peel

The citrus-boosted twist on Ska’s Modus Hoperandi IPA returns: Modus Mandarina IPA, dry-hopped with Mandarina Bavaria hops and brewed with sweet orange peels, is now available in 12-ounce cans year-round.

Oskar Blues Launches Coffee Roasting Company

From beer to beans, Colorado’s Oskar Blues has a “can-do” attitude. The brewery’s new coffee line, Hotbox Roasters, packages fair-trade coffee beans in aluminum Crowlers: 32-ounce resealable growler cans that the brewery also uses for its beers.

The original lineup includes Bolivia Newton John (light-medium roast), Frank Sumatra (medium) and Kenya Dig It (medium-dark), all roasted on site at the brewery in Longmont. Look out for an upcoming cold brew as well as coffee and beer collaborations from Oskar Blues and Hotbox.

Lagunitas OneHitter Series

All year long, Lagunitas Brewing Co. has been rolling out new beers as part of its OneHitter Series, showcasing “unique, strange Lagunitas one-offs.” Its High West-ified Imperial Coffee Stout in this series was named an All About Beer Recommended pick in our July issue.

The next OneHitter release rolls out in October with Born Yesterday Fresh Hop Pale Ale, in six-packs and on draft. November will see the release of NachtTime IPA Noir, a darker version of Lagunitas’Daytime IPA brewed with a special yeast strain and available only on draft.
