Lovely traditional IPA color; deep, bright amber is topped with an exceedingly thick head of minuscule bubbles that hang on and on, like time is standing still for the drinker to contemplate the beauty of the beer. Nose is distinct—floral but subdued. Beautiful balance of malt and bitter hops coats the palate, making this a great beer to accompany food. Terrific with a bouillabaisse of Alaska Coonstriped prawns, Dungeness crab and Penn Cove clams, served with freshly baked focaccia.

“Live Beer,” it says on the label. Either way you say it, it works for me. Specthopular dense and creamy head can’t cover up a deep sense of hoppiness that overwhelms. Deeply ingrained toasted malt flavors weave a subterranean presence throughout. A super clean finish that is stately and dignified. This beer encourages continued indulgence.  Sweet mother of hops and father of malt.  Live beer—Dead right.
