Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence (7.0%) from Brewery Ommegang (NY) is the tenth anniversary edition of the big stout. Available in 750-ml bottles and on draft.
Billed as the first genuine table beer imported to the U.S., Avril (3.5%) from Brasserie DuPont (Belgium) is aromatic, yeasty, malty and citrusy with a “whisper light” finish. Available in 750-ml bottles.
Karl Strauss Brewing (CA) has released Tower 10 IPA (6.5%), an American-style IPA brewed with a blend of caramel and pale malts and large amounts of Pacific Northwest Cascade, Chinook and Centennial hops in the kettle (and for dry hopping). Tower 10 replaces Stargazer IPA, an English-style IPA. Available in 12-oz bottles and on draft.
Belgica (7.2%) from Great Divide Brewing (CO) is a Belgian-style India pale ale brewed with Belgian pilsner malt, lots of American and European hops and a Belgian yeast strain. It’s named for the Roman word for the Low Countries. Belgica follows on the heels of two other Belgian-style ales brewed by Great Divide and released in the spring: Saison (7.3%) and Dunkel Weiss (6.4%). Available in 12-ounce bottles and on draft.
Full Sail Brewing’s (WA) rotating selection of Brewmaster Reserve beers changes about every 10 weeks. From August until September there is Vesuvius Belgian Style Golden Ale (8.5%) in 22-oz bottles only. Lupulin Fresh Hop Ale (5.8%) is draft only, brewed with fresh hops straight from the harvest.
