Exclusive Event During GABF Week Supports the Pints for Prostates Campaign

Making it to Denver at least once during the Great American Beer Festival is on just about every craft beer fan’s bucket list. Anyone who has been will tell you that the GABF is just the start of the fun in what is the epicenter of all things beer for three days each fall.

A relative newcomer to the Denver scene during GABF is the Denver Rare Beer Tasting. Created in 2009 as a fundraiser for the Pints For Prostates campaign, the event presented by All About Beer Magazine has quickly become one of the most talked about beer tastings anywhere.

The Denver Rare beer Tasting III will take place on Sept. 30th from 1-4pm at the Wynkoop Brewery on 18th Street in the LoDo section of the city. Beer fans lucky enough to score a ticket to the Denver Rare Beer Tasting III will be able to brag to friends that they got the chance to taste some of the rarest, most exotic and highly sought after brews in America, while chatting with some of craft beer’s most respected personalities.

Tickets for the event will go on sale June 19th at noon (EST). Tickets are $80, with 100 percent of the net proceeds from the sales going towards the awareness mission of Pints for Prostates, a 501(c)3 non-profit charity founded by beer writer and prostate cancer survivor Rick Lyke. It is expected that more than two dozen rare beers will be poured during the three hour session.

“Denver Rare Beer Tasrting is a once a year celebration of some of the most exotic creations of the brewer’s art. Beer lovers have the opportunity for a truly special experience, tasting a collection of beers that most people just do not get the chance to enjoy,” said Lyke. “This is a fun afternoon, with a serious mission: raising awareness about prostate cancer.”

“The Denver Rare Beer Tasting is all about what makes beer great – creativity, craftsmanship and community. We bring together America’s best craft breweries in a relaxed format where brewers and beer lovers get the chance to talk and taste great beers,” said Daniel Bradford, publisher of All About Beer Magazine. “This event sold out in advance the first two years, so people coming to the GABF who want the chance to experience a boutique-style tasting need to order tickets in advance for Denver Rare Beer Tasting.”
