We have some awesome local bands! So in addition to discovering great beers, we expect you’ll find some bands to follow, too. Below is a list of the World Beer Festival Durham 2012 bands.
Session 1, 12:00 noon – 4:00 PM
The Family – 12-2pm The Family is a five-piece group based in Greensboro, NC. These boys come from very different musical backgrounds and bring a wide variety of influences to the table, their high-energy performances will lilt from folk, to funk, to bluegrass, to rock, with a dash of psychedelic jamming thrown in for good measure.
Children of the Horn 2-4pm – Children of the Horn has created a unique sound by combining influences from soul jazz, funk, r&b, and world music.
Session 2: 6:00pm-10:00pm
Chalwa – 6-8pm Chalwa is based out of Asheville, NC and plays original High Country Reggae.
The Fritz 8-10pm – As schooled musicians, the members of The Fritz draw inspiration from a variety of musical traditions and techniques. This fusion of styles is rooted within improvised Funk and Rock, but also builds in elements of jazz, Classical, World, and electronic music.
