What a beauty! Color: an almost glowing mahogany with a beautiful head, and a nice mellow sound. The nose reeks of fine hops and aromatic malts, leaving the drinker on a precipice of desire. On the palate, there is a subtle and pleasing bitterness, which does NOT linger on the tail, but rather blends neatly into the warming invitation of the dark maltiness of the beer.
It’s got a handsome orangey glow to it, but it doesn’t form much of a head. The nose is quite nice, fruity, with some almost minty hop aromatics. The palate is well-balanced with moderate hops up front giving way to a solid biscuity malt center, leading to a clean, dry finish. At 7.2%, it’s dangerously drinkable; if youj were careless, you could easily end up “double bagged.” Excellent with sausages or a big pork chop.
Silly name but serious beer. Lovely aroma, melding both nutty, toffeeish, sweetish malt and lemony, lime-like.hop. Atttractive, deep copper-red color. Firm, smooth body. Long, malty flavors dovetailed with equally slow build-up of hop bitterness. Modeled on the sticke beers of Dusseldorf. Very credible.
