Brilliant color: copper-red tending toward black. Hell of a head: miniscule bubbles that hang on and on, finally leaving a natural-looking lace. Noble nose: sustained spice and fresh earth. Pleasing, full-bodied palate, bittersweet and satisfying with a pleasant pristine aftertaste. Fabulous with foods: we found it to be beautifully balanced with dishes as diverse as rare range-raised buffalo steak frits, and salt and pepper crab with spicy eggplant.

A deep, darkly embossed copper ale in which the bubbles move slowly. Full-bodied, creamy head and rich toasted/caramel malt aroma. Hop assets enliven the palate, while bathing in malty smoothness. A lingering hop flavor prevails. A red ale balanced for hop heads. Well brewed. Nice work and certainly a pleaser.

A copper-red beer brewed with six malts, it has a roasted grain, spicy hops and marmalade fruit aroma with bitter orange and lemon fruit in the mouth, biscuity malt and bitter hop resins. The finish becomes dry with toasted malt, burnt fruit and tangy, bitter hops. An intriguing beer that suggests malty sweetness but which has great hop character and bitter, roasted notes.
