Two days before Xmas and what should arrive? A bold Messiah from my very own tribe! The tall dark he brewed had a big nose, a yarmulke not quite white and a flowing brown robe with a reddish highlight. “Why visit me?” I said, not a believer. Enjoy, enjoy it said, our brewer is quite an achiever. What a mensch—with a zaftig palate, kosher mouthfeel and balance of biblical proportion heaven-sent. Was it a just a dream or an answer to prayers? With a platter of latkes, who the hell cares!

Now this is what I call religion! Deep copper hue with luscious and foamy head. Full-bodied scripture, I mean texture. Great balance of malt and hop flavor. Malty/caramel aroma. Roasted malt character provides grace while not being incendiary. This is a beer that would pair well with several types of food, kosher or not. Worth seeking and paying good shekels for. A testament to the craft of the brewmaster.

Pours perfectly. A stiff, beige, tight head caps a rich-colored mahogany beer. Fifteen minutes later, it is still there. It has a wealthy malt nose with hints of caramel and chocolate. The flavour momics the aroma perfectly. Reminiscent of an English brown ale, but with a little more muscle. The hops are laidback, appropriately. Showcasing the complex malt character. A light, fruity, wine note adds even more punch to this luscious brew. Perfect with a slice of apple caramel or pecan pie (reviewed by K. Klemp).
