Proof that beer can be light and still flavorful. Effervescent, pale golden body is topped with a thick ivory kopf. The nose is fresh and pretzel-like with an herbal hop perfume. The palate is light and delicate, yet there is a nice malty quality. It is balanced with enough hops to give the impression of dryness making it a good beer to serve with food, like lunch of chilled cucumber soup, tuna Nicoise and fresh organic Rainier cherries.

Straw coloured, with a soft white head. Full and fresh aroma: honeyed sweetness, with a hint of sharp lemon. Soft, dry grass and cereal top notes. Sherbet lemon boiled sweets? A soft beer in the mouth with those sherbet lemons appearing again, but the sweetness is balanced by a peripheral acidity – it’s not cloying. A slow finish, with a late, distinct and clear bitterness emerging. A very pleasant cleansing Helles character. Eminently drinkable on a warm day.

The solid pop from the swing-top bottle is reassuring, and—sure enough—a fresh, delicate beer awaits. Golden straw-colored with a white head, fresh on the nose, perfume-like. Apricot, spicy, grass aromas (probably the hops, but it conjures up an image of wet, freshly cut barley). Sweet-cookie maltiness, quickly giving way to dry finish that compliments the lightly spicy Tettnanger hops. The label indicates the beer is lagered 66; time well spent.
