  • John Hansell

Orange-amber color, with nice lacing in the head. Huge citrus, piney, honey-drenched, caramel-coated aroma and flavor. An earthy, grapefruit-rind, resinous texture and flavor emerge on the palate and dominate the finish. A somewhat aggressive beer, desperately seeing a person — or possibly food — to match.

  • Stephen Beaumont

A slightly hazy rust in hue, this IPA has a distinctly spicy aroma with notable dry-hopped fresh hop notes and an undercurrent of something approaching toasted sesame seeds and pine nuts. On the palate, it delivers a quick hit of almost bubblegummy fruit — cherry and generic red berry flavors — before the hops move in and take over completely. This isn’t aggressive in the double IPA sense, as it has neither the alcohol nor the malty body to merit that description, but it sure as hell makes its hoppy presence known. Hopheads will love it; personally, I’d prefer this kitty a bit more tamed.
