The color of a shiny full moon and a cloud-like head of tiny bubbles makes for a handsome appearance. The slight nose has a light, biscuity perfume, giving promise. Round and pleasantly malty on the palate, all is lost in the sharp, almost acrid finish, without the floral hop balance of classic pale ale. Indeed, the label says there is a touch of hibiscus and orange peel although, I did not detect either.

Crystal clear, shiny copper translucence. Wispy head remains intact. Gentle sweet aroma with notes of indiscernible spice. Chewy body and mouthfeel with immediate sour impact and lingering impression. Sourness lends itself to fruity description, but no specific fruit emerges. Bitterness is also involved with first impression, yet real hop flavor does not seem associated. Aftertaste slightly acidic, perhaps lending to smooth drinkability for those seeking minimal hop impact. I think of choosing robust tasting foods to contrast with the mild overall character of Pale Moon.
