Boulder Beer Releases Hoopla in Cans

By Win Bassett - June 11, 2012

(Boulder, CO) – First released in summer 2011 in 22-ounce bottles and limited draft, Hoopla Pale Ale makes its return to the Boulder Beer seasonal lineup again this summer with the addition of 12-ounce 6-pack cans.

Magic happened last year in Boulder, CO, when local music and local beer came together. In search of the perfectly drinkable, yet flavorful, festival beer, the Boulder Beer brewers and avid homebrewer Kyle Hollingsworth, Keyboardist of the String Cheese Incident, joined creative forces. Imagination and improvisation flowed freely, and Hoopla Pale Ale was born.

Hoopla Pale Ale is dry-hopped with generous amounts of Glacier hops for a fruity, floral hop aroma and flavor that will have your taste buds dancing! Its lively hop character is wonderfully balanced with a crisp, clean finish from the unique blend of US and German grains, making Hoopla the perfect companion to festival season.

“We wanted to make a beer that was hoppy, but still appetizing to non-hop-drinkers and drinkable on hot days at summertime festivals,” Kyle explains about the recipe.

The introduction of Hoopla cans this summer adds another element of outdoor fun to this already colorful, festive brand. The can art includes a QR code to scan for free music downloads from Kyle and more information on Hoopla to help generate a buzz about the beer and the new package. Twenty-two ounce “bomber” bottles and draught will also be available this season, with nitro kegs a new option for experimental on-premise retailers that are interested in pouring pale-colored, hoppy beers on nitrogen for a smooth, creamy taste.

BEER SPECS:
Hops: Nugget, Glacier, Centennial
Grains: Pale Malt, CaraRed Malt, Melanoidin Malt, Chocolate Malt
IBU: 35
ABV: 5.7%

Available in 12-ounce 6-pack cans, 22-ounce bottles and on draft in both co2 and nitro from mid-July through early October.

Great music and beer bring people together to create shared experiences. With a similar passion for delectable brews and harmonious grooves, the Boulder Beer team and Kyle Hollingsworth invite like-minded people to share in the Hoopla experience with them this summer. For a limited time, Hoopla will be available wherever great beer is sold in select markets throughout Colorado and 37 other states.
