BEND, OR – Deschutes Brewery has promoted Stacy Denbow, who has served as a zone sales manager for the brewery since 2005, to expansion manager. This newly formed position will be responsible for identifying and opening new retail markets for the brewery, creating market launch plans and working on distributor partnerships. Denbow will continue to be based in Denver.

“Stacy’s extensive experience with opening new markets, as well as his success as the South Central Zone Manager managing a team of three in multiple states, made the decision to select him for this new position very easy,” said Andy Tysler, national sales director for Deschutes Brewery. “Stacy has developed and incorporated many processes and procedures that have helped him, and his team, drive extensive growth in distribution and sales in his zone.”

Tysler also mentioned Stacy’s strong connections in the retail trade portion of the business as a key part of the hiring decision. As the brewery continues to expand distribution further away from its Bend headquarters it will be increasingly important to be in close touch with retailers in order to identify trends and preferences in new markets.

Denbow has worked in the brewing industry for the past 15 years, starting out as a brewer at a Ft. Collins pub and working in sales for a Colorado distribution company. Most recently, he was responsible for managing the Deschutes Brewery sales managers in the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Texas. He also executed launch plans for recent new distribution regions for the brewery. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in management from Colorado State University and is a Cicerone Certified Server.
