(Cooperstown, NY) – Duvel, one of the world’s most recognized and revered beers, is launching a nationwide search (not legal in CA) for the next great design to grace its iconic tulip-shaped glass.  The Belgian beer is expanding its ‘Duvel Collection’ series, which to date has featured the designs of international artists such as Arne Quinze, Stefan Glerum, and most recently, Brooklyn designer Mike Perry, to include the winner of its USA on-line contest running June 15 to August 15 at duvelcollection.com.

Participants download a Photoshop template from www.duvelcollection.com and upload their own unique approach to the signature glass.  The top 10 designs achieving the most ‘likes’ will be presented to a panel of judges for voting.  The winning design will be produced on the iconic Duvel tulip glass and distributed throughout restaurants and bars across the US across the end of the year.  The promotion is also supported at Facebook.com/duvel.beer; Facebook.com/duvelcollection; and @duvelusa.

‘From its completely unique glass to striking advertising, Duvel reflects and embodies an appreciation for impactful design,’ said Simon Thorpe, President and CEO of Duvel Moortgat USA.  ‘In Belgium and across Europe, we have proactively supported the arts community, most recently and visibly through the ‘Duvel Collection’ series.  We are proud to bring that to the USA and to encourage the sharing and experiencing of great new design ideas.’

Previous glassware designers also included Parra, an artist once rejected from art school; Eley-Kishimoto, celebrated husband and wife print-designers of fashion collections including with Marc Jacobs; Belgian street artist Dennis Meyers; and the first American participant, Mike Perry, who works though multiple mediums and has had his work used for Apple, New York Times, Target and Nike.
