Fuller's Imperial Stout(Press Release)

Fuller’s, the London based family brewer, has revealed its latest innovation with the launch of a new limited-edition Imperial Stout, created in partnership with the revered UK beer writer, Melissa Cole.

The 10.7% ABV beer is brewed according to the classic style of Imperial Stout that dates back to the 18th Century, but with the addition of Centennial hops that impart a distinctive floral character. Furthermore, dried rose buds have been infused during the maturation process to give the stout a unique flavour profile that features a hint of Turkish Delight.

Aimed at connoisseurs, the quality brew reflects the innovative heritage of the Fuller’s brewery while showcasing the exacting standards and craftsmanship of its brewing team, headed up by master brewer John Keeling.

Fuller’s Imperial Stout is a handcrafted strong, dark stout with roasted dark chocolate notes and a slight fruity acidity with fairly high bitterness. It is presented in a stylish gift box that reflects the premium nature of the beer and will appeal to connoisseurs and collectors alike. The stout has a shelf life of 10 years and is ideal as a gift to mark special occasions.

Speaking about the production, Melissa Cole said: “The inspiration for this opulent beer was to make an adult Turkish Delight. The size of the Fuller’s brewery was quite daunting for me, so working with the team there was both fun and humbling.

“We’ve created what I think is an immensely elegant, rounded and smooth Imperial Stout, that will not only drink well now, but I think is worth buying a few extra bottles to tuck away as it will age extremely well too.”

Head of Marketing at Fuller’s, Wade Crouch added: “We were delighted to work with Melissa to create our Imperial Stout as she had some great ideas that have helped to make this stout truly unique. It is the latest innovation to come from our extremely talented and passionate brewing team and is a reflection of our commitment to giving our customers plenty of choice and some really interesting beers of superior quality.”

Production of Fuller’s Imperial Stout will be limited, with a small allocation being made available in the UK. The premium-priced stout will also raise the profile of the London brewer internationally with exports to key markets with a high demand for strong stout beers including Chile, Estonia and Japan.

Fuller’s Imperial Stout is also exclusively available for a limited time only at Fuller’s Brewery Shop, in Chiswick, London, at £8.50 per 500ml bottle.
