(Press Release)

HALF MOON BAY, Calif.– The San Mateo County coastside brewery, Half Moon Bay Brewing Co., is working with Not For Sale, a nonprofit working to fight human trafficking, to raise awareness for the nonprofit’s “Throwdown” campaign. Half Moon Bay Brewing is known for socially conscious business practices, including creating scholarship programs for high school students and a speaker series for its community called Brews and Views.

Half Moon Bay Brewing is releasing two beers, the Not For Sale saison and the Calf-eine Coffee milk stout at select bars and stores in 22 ounce bottles. The saison is also available at the brewery on tap.

Made with a Peruvian herb called Cat’s Claw, ethically sourced with the help of Not For Sale, the saison has a peach hue and features a Belgian saison yeast, honey, ginger and hibiscus flowers. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Calf-eine Coffee milk stout has a creamy texture and rich aroma, brewed with 15 gallons of Guatemalan medium roast cold brew coffee from Dignitá, a coffee bar by Not For Sale in San Francisco.

Half Moon Bay is donating $25,000 per year until the beer sales exceed $1 million. After that, 2.5 percent of the saison and stout’s gross sales will be donated.
