(Longmont, CO) – Week Sauce. A beer brewed for the champions of Beer Weeks across the U.S.! Not to be confused with Weak Sauce, this stealthy coffee porter brewed with Allegro beans, is not for the weak palate! Made especially for all the beer weeks across the nation, Beer Week Sauce is the perfect combination of coffee and beer that will simultaneously give you the pickup and kick in the pants you need for those long nights in Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston, Chicago, and more…

Beer Week Sauce is a cold brewed porter with Ethiopia Yirgacheffe coffee beans added during aging. The beer pours jet black with aromas of intense cold extracted coffee including blueberries, cinnamon, and tar. Flavor is of coffee, brown sugar, Malt-o-Meal, cinnamon and roasted malt. More bright acidic fruity notes from coffee and hops come through and linger in the finish. Strong and flavorful, Beer Week Sauce is a dream come true for beer lovers and coffee fanatics everywhere.

Originating with the Left Hand sales crew, the idea for Beer Week Sauce came from the long nights at beer weeks across the U.S., where craft beer fans always had the same request, “Give me something special.” And the Colorado based brewery did exactly that. Head Brewer Ro Guenzel created a robust coffee porter with a drinking experience of a strong iced coffee. Experimenting with different coffee companies, Left Hand teamed up with local Allegro Coffee for the 2012 edition of Beer Week Sauce. The use of the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe coffee beans imparts the strong acidic and roasted malt flavors that coffee beer lovers crave.

With summer in our sights and American Craft Beer Week just around the corner, the craft beer community is gearing up for beer weeks coast-to-coast. “We’re excited to have an offering like Beer Week Sauce that is synonymous with the beer weeks nationwide, but is still a limited special offering,” says VP of Operations Chris Lennert. “Fans are fortunate to stumble upon this slice of Left Hand and usually have to seek out these Beer Week events to find it.”  Beer Week Sauce isn’t bottled and it’s a rarity on draft, so thirsty fans can get a glass of the strong stuff by keeping tabs Left Hand’s events via their website and Facebook page. And don’t forget to check out your local beer week to find the Left Hand crew and get a little sip of beer & coffee nirvana!
