(Press Release)

SEATTLE, Wa.–Malt is the soul of beer, akin to grapes in wine. Celebrate the summer ‘soul-stice’ with Pike Locale Skagit Valley Alba, Washington State’s first ever varietal beer.

On May 29 the first bottles rolled off the Pike Brewery bottling line. There to witness the occasion was the community of Skagit Valley farmers and maltsters who helped make this beer possible.

Pike Locale features locally grown heritage and varietal malts. The first beer in the series, Skagit Valley Alba, is just in time for summer. The beer is light and citrusy with a clean, earthy and nutty malt finish. Subtly seasoned with Yakima Valley hops, Pike Locale pours a beautiful spun gold color with a crisp, pale, foamy head.

Pike Locale Skagit Valley Alba is heralding a new beginning for craft brewing and helping to preserve the verdant Skagit Valley farmland.
