San Diego, CA – In celebration of San Diego’s rich local craft beer culture, the San Diego Brewers Guild is preparing for the largest San Diego Beer Week yet during November 2-11, 2012. The highly anticipated ten-day celebration is the craft beer capital’s premiere annual event, boasting an impressive 500 plus happenings hosted by the key players in the craft brew scene, including breweries, nano-breweries, pubs, alehouses and San Diego Brewers Guild Members.

SDBW 2012 will boast more events than ever before, kicking off with the signature San Diego Brewers Guild Festival on Saturday, November 3rd at the downtown Embarcadero. The annually sold out, ticketed event will attract thousands of beer enthusiasts to experience upwards of 100 of San Diego’s finest award-winning beer offerings, an extraordinary food pairing line up, music, entertainment and craft beer related activities. SDBW will continue through November 11th with events ranging from pint nights and beer pairing dinners, brewing classes and special meet the brewer experiences. The celebrations will culminate with a ticketed finale event on November 11th at the Lodge at Torrey Pines, where guests will enjoy specialty beer and gourmet food pairings by some of San Diego’s top culinary artists and brew masters.

“Beer Week 2011 took us all by surprise; every brewpub, bottle shop, brewery and restaurant seemed to step up with great events and offerings. Considering the incredible growth over the past year in the Guild, 2012 Beer Week will be that much more amazing” says Shawn DeWitt, president of San Diego Brewers Guild. “We encourage locals and visitors to participate in the festivities. The weather in San Diego is beautiful in November, and with ten-days of beer festivities to choose from, there’s no better time or place to celebrate our city’s award-winning beer.”
Hosting over 60 local brewers, San Diego County has gained an international reputation as the hub for creative and innovative craft beer and continues to be an American and International craft beer movement leader. Recently hosting the 2012 Craft Beer Conference, San Diego Guild Brewers accounted for more than a dozen medals. Equally impressive was the number of San Diego brewers that walked away with hardware at last month’s U.S. Open Beer Championships. San Diego’s brew culture has inspired the community to truly embrace all that is related to craft beer, as reflected through beer-centric menus and extensive tap selections in local restaurants, a host of beer festivals throughout the county, and new breweries constantly emerging on the burgeoning scene.
