This summer, SweetWater Brewing Company along with Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper challenged Atlantans to help save one of Georgia’s most important natural resources, the Chattahoochee River. From Memorial Day until July 4th, to raise money and awareness for the cause, participating retailers sold paper fish and “Save the Hooch” t-shirts!  Retailers, bars and restaurants joined in and on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Canoe, a sold out crowd of supporters came together on the banks of the river to watch SweetWater reveal a check for $93,000!

“What an unbelievable success!” said Freddy Bensch, SweetWater’s Big Kahuna. “Through the support from SweetWater’s fans and participating retailers we were able to raise nearly 100K. It’s inspiring to see the people of Atlanta come together to help save one of this city’s most precious natural resource. Which of course, we love because a clean Chattahoochee River gives us the clean water we need to keep making great beer!”
