(Rochester, NY) – Three Heads Brewing (3HB) is proud to announce the release of their latest beer, Cobbs Hill Black Lager. The release of Cobbs Hill Black Lager coincides with the launch of Rochester Real Beer Week, June 15th through June 22nd in Rochester, NY.

Cobbs Hill Black Lager, much like its namesake, rises above with a reservoir of malts and a panoramic of roasted tones, a very accessible highlight for the Rochester beer loving community. With all the complexity you’d expect from a darker beer but with the mouth of a session lager, Cobbs Hill Black Lager gladly shucks the perplexing trend of pawning lighter, citrus-laced beers off as a staple for summer time consumption. Cobbs Hill is the perfect way to herald the beginning of summer as well as to honor the spirit of Rochester Real Beer Week all season long.

Additionally, Cobbs Hill Black Lager serves as the Official Beer of Rochester Real Beer Week. 3HB received the honor after being heralded favorite beer by festival goers of last year’s Rochester Real Beer Expo, specifically for their 2011 offering, The Ontario Coast IPA.

Cobbs Hill Black Lager will be released on the first day of the festival, Friday, June 15th. Sticky Lips BBQ Juke Joint (830 Jefferson Rod, Henrietta, NY) will feature the beer during their Rochester Real Beer Week Launch Party Concert & All-Local Tap Takeover that evening. To honor Rochester Real Beer Week, Sticky Lips will offer locally brewed beer on every one of their taps, including other Three Heads Brewing offerings, for this special event.

Rochester Real Beer Week is a weeklong series of craft beer related events including tastings, food and beer pairings and dinners, socials, concerts, and craft beer launches. The flagship event is The Rochester Real Beer Expo 2012 on June 16th, a street party with over 80 craft beers. Organized by Tap and Mallet (381 Gregory Street), the event will be held on Gregory Street in the South Wedge, from Whalin Street to Bond Street, from 6PM to 10PM. Besides craft beer, admission also provide access to a variety of wines, food vendors, fresh locally roasted coffee, hand rolled cigars, and more. Live music will also be featured during the event.

Proceeds from the festival will be used to assist the Business Association of the South Wedge Area in their mission to continue revitalization of the South Wedge area.

Three Heads Brewing was established in December 2010, the collaborative efforts of Brighton residents Geoff Dale, Todd Dirrigl, and Dan Nothnagle. First serving their hometown of Rochester, NY, Three Heads Brewing is now available throughout all of New York State, as well as distribution in Massachusetts, Illinois, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Three Heads Brewing currently offers seven beers: The Kind IPA, Skunk Black IPA, Java Sutra Coffee Porter, Bromigo Smoked Maple Amber, Loopy Oatmeal Red Ale, Common Man Special Lager, and now the Cobbs Hill Black Lager.
