We don’t make beers with the intention of winning medals; we make the kind of beers we and our fans like to drink. But we don’t mind getting a pat on the back, like the one of our Sour Reserve Blend #2 got when it won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival over the weekend.

And we weren’t the only ones. We want to say congratulations to all the other Indiana breweries who took home shiny souvenirs!

So how can we celebrate this good news? Well, we’ve been holding back a few cases of our Sour Reserve Blend #2, and if ever there was a time for a special release, this is it! We have about 36 bottles at ourIndy Tasting Room and 48 bottles at our Bloomington Brew Pub. When these locations open for business (11am for the Bloomington Brew Pub and noon for the Indy Tasting Room) this Saturday, October 20th, you’ll get your chance to take home a bottle.

Each bottle will be $25 plus tax, and there is a limit of one bottle per person. (No, you can’t pick up an extra bottle for your friend who lives out of town, and no, we don’t care that your wife really wants a bottle, but she’s busy giving birth to your firstborn child.) It’s first come first served, so get there early!

About the Beer

Our Sour Reserve is inspired by the breweries of Belgium, which for hundreds of years have blended together different batches of unfruited lambic to make a style known as Gueuze. Inspired by this tradition, head brewery Caleb Staton has been blending together his favorite batches of our own lambic-style beer into a single barrel to create a unique combination of flavors and aromas that can never be replicated.
