Pours copper with a thin head that quickly dissipates. A very muted aroma with just a touch of hop fragrance. The mouthfeel? Fantastic and complex. A cross between flan and nougat; one can definitely taste the vanilla imparted from the oak. Chewy and resinous like a true DIPA. Slightly hot – the 10 percent ABV is not hidden – and with a dried fruit-accentuated finish this sipper of a beer could easily cross over into barleywine territory. A stellar offering.
