Once only offered in 22 oz bottles, Deschutes Brewery‘s Hop Trip is now available in 12 oz 6-packs. Part of the brewery’s Bond Street Series, the beer pours amber with a thick, rich head. Serious lacing. Grapefruit rind notes come off the top. No doubt the result of several hundred pounds of fresh-off-the-vine Crystal hops from the Willamette Valley added to the kettle. An orange marmalade-on-toast finish with a dusted-scone fade. Moderately bitter (38 IBUs) for a freshly-hopped beer. Extremely balanced, delicious and a highly sessionable pale ale at 5.4 percent ABV.
