The color is on the light side of yellow, with a bright head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is clean and pleasant, slightly malty but not hoppy. The flavor is also clean, crisp and refreshing with a surprising malt backbone, slightly sweet, I suppose like cream—thus the name, Cream Ale. The faint aftertaste is pleasant and overall. I find this to be superior to more well-known mainstream brands. Perhaps that is “damned by faint praise,” but we did enjoy it with a bowl of steaming hot chili con carne and corn bread.

Iconic. Super pale, limited head retention. Classic clean and light aroma. Very light grain flavor with plenty of effervescence. Bitterness is notably higher than iconic brand-name light lagers. Clean crisp and meant to refresh. No doubt about wanting to drink this one at cold temperatures for maximum refreshment. Clean, simple moderate bitterness lends higher drinkability for this beer geek.
