Yellow fizzy beer does not have to be boring. This lightish golden ale pours beautifully, with a big rocky head that regrettably disappears almost immediately. The nose hints of hops, floral and well-balanced. Mouthfeel is fresh and satisfying, full-flavored and complex, not at all like your grandfather’s tipple. A great food beer that forms a more perfect union with a big variety of dishes. We choose pizza, a thin-crusted Margherita with anchovies, Caesar salad and gnocchi with butter and sage sauce.Charles Finkel is founder of Merchant du Vin and the Pike Brewing Co. Another terrific pale ale with a broad foundation and theme of balanced bitterness. It enlivens the palate with deliciousness. Hop aromas and flavors are evident at balanced, subtle yet lively levels. Drinkability is way high. Convivial and a go-to pale ale without any doubt. Golden and crystal clear. A beer to make Chicago proud. Embrace this one and you will need no further explanation from me. Solid, well-brewed, well-balanced craft beer from a craft brewer.
