Singletrack Copper Ale is brewed with Great Western 2-row, English 50/60 crystal, carapils malts and a touch of flaked toasted rye, with Nugget and Tettnang hops. Rockies Brewing Co. is Colorado’s first microbrewery, founded by two homebrewers in 1979 on a small farm, using a goad shed as a brewhouse.
Original gravity: 1053
Rockies is one of the oldest American microbreweries. They are right on track with this appropriately named copper ale. The beer pours perfectly, with its head held high like fluffy white clouds above a Colorado copper mine. Aromatics abound in the nose and the flavor doesn't let you down. Mouth feel is round and firm, with plenty of maltiness, enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. The taste is fresh and firm with a clean finish. Perfect with a freshly picked apple, farmhouse cheese and lightly toasted Jewish rye.

The sound of the pour hints of body with the anticipation of a full flavor. Fantastic floral hop aroma rarely encountered in craft brews; perceived as sweet honey and floral. This only goes further to enhance the full flavor of malt and balance of hop character that is gentle but quite satisfying. One of the best products from my hometown craft brewery. I like what they do with this all-around winner. And a great intro to craft beers for the novice as well.

Spicy hops and dark fruit on the nose with a yeasty/bready note. There is winey fruit in the mouth with dark, almost roast, malt and bitter hops. The finish is a fine balance of dark malt and bitter, spicy hops. Well balanced, aromatic, and a good hop character. It would go well with strong cheese or pasta dishes.
