This limited, seasonal offering from Uinta Brewing’s Crooked Line series pours a deep ruby (almost red velvet) with a big, thick white head that slowly dissipates. Notes of pumpkin (pulp and pith), vanilla, caramel and hints of crème brûlée. A big, brawny beer (unassumingly boozy at 10.31 % despite being aged in oak for six months), Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin is definitely not a “pie in a bottle” kind of beer. It has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a molasses and dark Karo syrup-accentuated finish. A beer more a kin to representing Halloween and its bag o’ treats than a bountiful fall harvest.
