Whilst I welcome esteemed publications like The New Yorker writing about beer, I’m not sure this cover takes beer seriously. The hipster moniker is a dangerous one for the beer industry if we’re not careful. Like every other time in history, the establishment will try and dismiss new things as a fad or a trend by trying to make them look silly or pretentious—so we need to keep pushing the seriousness of beer without losing its egalitarian nature—a tough ask for sure.
