The Georgia Craft Brewers Guild is turning to crowdfunding to raise money for lobbying efforts. The organization launched a campaign on IndieGoGo and hopes to raise $30,000 by early January to help fund a lobbyist to push legislative reforms in the Peach State.

“Georgia continues to lag behind because our state laws and regulations are out-of-date and inhospitable to craft beer entrepreneurs,” according to the campaign. “Georgia’s laws and regulations governing the production and sale of craft beer need to be modernized and brought into the 21st Century!”

The guild has raised over $8,000 as of press time and, per Indiegogo’s regulations, will be able to keep all the money it raises, even if it does not meet the goal.
