(Kansas City, MO) – After more than two years of experimentation and fine-tuning, Boulevard Brewing Company is adding a new year-round brand to its family of beers. Drawing inspiration from two of today’s most popular styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by Boulevard’s brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a distinctive ale with the aroma of an I.P.A. and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer. Available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles, the new beer will appear in most Boulevard markets later this month.

“I’m very proud of our brewers and their ongoing creativity and innovation,” said John McDonald, Boulevard founder and president. “They’ve been working on this beer for a long time, taking it to festivals and sampling it for guests in our tasting room. The reception was so enthusiastic we knew it would eventually find a place in our line-up.”

The new beer’s name was suggested by Todd Hanson, a Boulevard regional sales manager, who grew up working on a family farm in South Dakota. 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer pays tribute to the region that produces many of its key ingredients and provides the Kansas City brewery with a significant base of support.
