Three Sheeps Brewing

SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin—It was only a few minutes after opening, but the cavernous space was filling fast. The new outpost for 3 Sheeps (1837 North Ave.) is currently known as a taproom and barrel warehouse until the full brew house is installed (the existing brewery operates out of a local restaurant). With a generous-sized poured concrete bar and local touches, like reclaimed wood from the local armory used as accents, this new space attracts folks for the camaraderie and the beer. Three-ounce pours range from $1.50 to $3. –John Holl

Seven Legged Cartwheel
7.3% | 100% Brett-Fermented IPA

Boozy and astringent off the bat, with a wild wood and yeast character that soon dominates. Finishes very dry and is like drinking vegetables in a barnyard.

Really Cool Waterslides
6.2% | India Pale Ale

Aroma like fresh-cut pine lumber and sap. Woody and green. Lush and filling, thanks to robust carbonation. This takes you on a fun ride down a lupulin-coated chute, and you’ll go back for another turn.

Hello, My Name is Joe
8% | Imperial Black Wheat Coffee Ale

Like a coffee liqueur candy, this goes down smooth. Mellow caramel latte flavor with a full mouthfeel. Aromas like all the coffees mixed together at the caffeine station at a convenience store. Welcoming, intriguing and unmistakable all at once.

*First Kiss
8.2% | Imperial IPA w/ Honey

An IPA raised in a pine forest, this is a memorable ale with a thick chewy mouthfeel and a warm wood undertone. There is a slight bit of sweetness, honey and caramel and a wisp of lemon citrus that dances playfully on the taste buds.

Midnight Bourbon Barrel Ale
10% | Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Black Wheat Ale

Crème brûlée with a shot of whiskey. Unmistakable that the barrel used for this beer once held fine booze. It’s satisfyingly blunt, thick like oil and everything you want from the style, with the wood and alcohol yielding to the base beer just enough.
