I had Whistler Imperial Pils for the first time last summer. It was an early entry for me into the world of imperial pilsners. For me, imperial pils’ bridged two of my favorite worlds: the chewy viscosity of double IPAs and the crisp, floral Saazy sessionable-ness of a good Moravian malted brew. This beer is much like the waters of San Diego from where it got it’s name – beautiful and inviting but dangerous if not approached with some semblance of trepidation.
