The Harviestoun Brewery, established in a 200-year old stone byre, uses untreated natural spring water from the nearby Ochill Hills for its beers. Intended to have the character of a barley wine, this nearly black brew has a high original gravity, resulting in a high, barley wine-like viscosity; but at a lower alcohol content than barley wine.
