All About Beer Magazine earned five honors from the North American Guild of Beer Writers (NAGBW), including recognition as one of the Top Publishers of the Year in the beer world.
Publisher Andy Crouch won First Place in the Best Regional, National, or International Reporting category for his in-depth story “From Fresno to Famous: Alex Kidd Brings Life to Beer.” The powerful feature follows podcaster and beer personality Alex Kidd as he faces stage 4 cancer, balancing humor, humanity, and heart in one of the most talked-about beer stories of the year.
Editor John Holl earned Second Place in Best Short Form Writing for his sharp and popular April Fools’ satire, “Major Overhaul Coming to the 2025 Great American Beer Festival,” and writers Gail Ann Williams and Steve Shapiro took Second Place in Best Local Reporting for their evocative story on one of America’s great beer bars, “Inside Toronado, Still For Sale, A Slow Motion Wake Continues.”
Our podcasts were also recognized, with Drink Beer, Think Beer with John Holl taking Third Place in Best Beer Podcast.
With nine entries across multiple categories, All About Beer ranked Third Overall in Publisher of the Year, a huge achievement for our small but dedicated team striving to keep independent beer journalism vibrant.
Since its rebirth in 2022 under Crouch and Holl, All About Beer has been telling the stories that matter, to brewers, drinkers, and everyone who believes beer is more than what’s in the glass.
Thank you to our readers, subscribers, and supporters for making this work possible.
