There is a lot of focus on football this week in America as the Super Bowl is coming up on Sunday. To get excited about the game and the cities involved I’ve asked on two leading experts from Philly and Kansas City, to talk about what is good in their cities, where to drink, what to eat, and to infuse some local color to give us all a more rounded experience.

Guests

Representing the city of brotherly love, is Meredith Megan Rebar who has a passion for brewing and creating unique, and specialized events around beer. Meredith began her career managing and producing special events and concerts at the Abbey Bar as part of Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, PA. She was also part of the Tasting Room event team that opened the new Troegs Brewing Company location in Hershey, PA.

In addition to running Home Brewed Event she brewed professionally at Saint Benjamin Brewing Company, chairs the Philly Loves Beer Education Committee and is a founding member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Pink Boots Society.

Brian Rooney is co-founder and brewer of BKS Artisan Ales in Kansas City. Along with his wife Mary, who runs, the front of the house, he opened BKS in 2017. The name comes from the commonly used abbreviation of the brookside neighborhood of Kansas City where the brewery is located. Despite brewery’s full name, Brian is also creating a multitude of lagers through the Pivo Project.
