(Press Release)
DENVER—Breckenridge Brewery is celebrating another 21st milestone. The brewery, which reached age 21 itself several years ago, has released the 21st edition of its winter seasonal, Christmas Ale. True to the season, this hearty strong ale warms the soul with a spiciness that comes from Mt. Hood and Chinook hops balanced by rich flavors derived from an abundance of roasted malts.
Breckenridge Brewery packages Christmas Ale with sharing in mind. Last year the brewery introduced Christmas Ale in 5-liter mini-kegs. Yielding ten pints, the festive package is just right for holiday gatherings. “The mini-keg is perfect for Christmas Ale” says Todd Thibault, Director of Marketing for the brewery. “It’s what craft beer is all about – gathering together to enjoy good company and good drink.” Demand from the market validated this. Thibault adds, “We doubled the Christmas Ale mini-kegs we produced this year based on retail and consumer demand.”
In addition to mini-kegs, Christmas Ale is available in traditional 12-oz bottles and half-barrel kegs. It just wouldn’t be Christmas in Colorado, however, without the hand-labeled, liter gift bottles of this winter ale. Later this month, as is tradition, brewery employees will join together to doggedly label a limited supply of Christmas Ale liters. The gift bottles are sold in the tasting room at its headquarters in Denver.
