(Press Release)

FREDERICK, MD—Barrel-Aged Gonzo Imperial Porter, a homage to Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, will be released exclusively at Flying Dog Brewery on Monday, February 3.

Typically released once a year in extremely limited supply, Barrel-Aged Gonzo is six months in the making, with the beer aged for a minimum of three months in oak whiskey barrels.

“The result is an even more complex flavor profile with vanilla notes from the oak and subtle and soothing whiskey warmth,” Flying Dog Brewmaster Matt Brophy, said. “This is in addition to the rich chocolate and roast malt flavors in our original Gonzo Imperial Porter.”

750-ml bottles will be available exclusively at Flying Dog’s brewery in Frederick, Maryland for $20 each. These bottles will be available for purchase from noon to 8 pm, along with live music, growler fills, and beer samples. There is a two-bottle per person limit and availability is not guaranteed once the event begins.

After the release, Barrel-Aged Gonzo Imperial Porter will be available on draft at the brewery and in local markets for a limited time.
