(Press Release)
It’s everyone’s favorite time of year! The weather gets a little cooler, the days get a little shorter and we have our biggest party of the year, Silent Night Day 2014! This year, the party starts at the brewery at 1pm on Saturday, November 22nd. We will have, of course, the 2014 batch of Silent Night, our bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout, on tap for the first time. We partnered again this year with our friends at Counter Culture Coffee in Durham, NC to produce a special blend of coffee that was used in brewing Silent Night. We’ll also have 2010, 2011 (NITRO), 2012 and 2013 Silent Night on tap as well, so you can try a five year vertical tasting of all of the Silent Night brews we have produced! The 2014 Silent Night 750ml bottles will be available for purchase for the first time as well. Bottles are priced at $16 each.
FOOD
Kinston is becoming known as one of the best food destinations in the South, recognized for award-winning restaurants like Chef and the Farmer Restaurant, Boiler Room Oyster Bar, and Ginger 108 Southern Grill. This year, the Silent Night release party will be offering food selections from Olvera Street, a brand new taqueria operated by Mother Earth Brewing cellarman Joe Kavanagh. This exciting venture will be the newest addition to downtown Kinston and will feature southern California style Mexican cuisine, fusing traditional Los Angeles street fare with a gourmet twist. All proceeds of this new restaurant unveiling will go towards the smART Kinston Foundation to renovate and revitalize historic houses around downtown Kinston.
RED ROOM
Our sister bar, The Red Room, will be celebrating their 2 year anniversary on the same day of Silent Night Day! After enjoying the party at Mother Earth Brewing, make sure you stop by and wish them a happy anniversary while checking out live music from Raleigh’s Lauren Nicole!
GIFT SHOP
The Silent Night release party will also mark the 1 year anniversary of the Mother Earth Trading Post retail shop! It’s located next to the tap room and is accessible from its main entrance on North St, as well as through interior access from within the Tap Room. You will be able to browse around and purchase all sorts of awesome Mother Earth t-shirts, glassware, and other new fantastic items!
HOTEL INFO
Last year, the Silent Night Release Party brought folks from far and wide, and we’re expecting this year to be even bigger! In an effort to encourage folks to come and stay and enjoy the entire day, we’ve secured a special group rate at the Hampton Inn of Kinston. Folks traveling from out of town can call the Hampton Inn directly at (252) 523-1400 and reserve your room under the group name Mother Earth. This special rate will be available until all the rooms in the block are reserved, or until November 16th, so don’t delay! We’ll also be running a FREE shuttle to and from the hotel all afternoon and evening, so you can enjoy all of the festivities of the day and get you back to the hotel safely.
Last year’s Silent Night release was once again the biggest party we have ever had. We had so much fun hanging out with you all! We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones on one of our favorite days of the year, at an event that is quickly becoming one of the best beer events in North Carolina! More information will be added here as it becomes available, so keep checking back for updates on the happenings of the day. We can’t wait to see you on Saturday, November 22nd and share the Silent Night experience with you!
Mother Earth Brewing was founded by Stephen Hill and Trent Mooring in 2008. Soon after, they added Brewmaster Josh D. Brewer to the team and within months, an old downtown building was repurposed into a brewery. Mother Earth Brewing began to bottle and keg their beer in October of 2009. Today, just over five years after production of their first batch of beer, Mother Earth Brewing counts on a team of eighteen people to keep up with production. Mother Earth Brewing enjoys over 6,000 accounts, and can be found in bars, restaurants, supermarkets and specialty stores across North Carolina, Georgia, Northern Va. and Washington, DC. Mother Earth Brewing is the first Gold L.E.E.D. ® certified production brewery in the United States. The brewery and Taproom are located at 311 North Heritage Street Kinston, NC 28501.
