FORT COLLINS, Colo.—On June 1, 2015, Odell Brewing will release its latest Cellar Series offering, Barrel Thief, an Imperial India Pale Ale aged in medium toast American oak barrels.
Barrel Thief features a variety of American hops including whole flower Equinox. It’s also dry-hopped with the experimental HBC 472 variety. The brew boasts bright notes of tropical and stone fruits that are enhanced by hints of vanilla, dried fruit, and toasted nut from the oak barrels.
“Huge oak flavors pair well with all the tropical fruits that can be attributed to the massive amount of hops used,” said pilot brew and barrel aging manager Brent Cordle.
Odell Brewing will celebrate the release of Barrel Thief in the brewery’s tap room May 29-31. Guests can enjoy samples of the brew, local food truck pairings, and live music on Sunday afternoon. Barrel Thief will be available in 750 ml, cork and cage finished bottles throughout the brewery’s eleven state distribution footprint beginning in June.
