Renowned beer importers Vanberg & DeWulf will hold their annual celebration of Belgian beer, The Coast to Coast Toast, this Thursday, November 14th. This is the third year for the event, with nearly 700 better beer establishments around the country participating.

Here are ten things to look for this week:
1) Tap Takeovers

- Beer Culture in Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of NYC – a combination beer bar and bottle shop with 500 varieties is holding their first ever tap takeover for the Coast to Coast Toast featuring Saison Dupont, Monks Stout, Foret, Foret Blanche, Avril, Redor Pils, Scaldis Belgian Special Ale, Vicaris Tripel-Gueuze, Contessa Italian Pale Ale, Hop Ruiter, Olvisholt Lava, Vicaris Generaal on tap and plenty more in bottles. 2) Small Plate Pairing with emphasis on Cheese and Charcuterie Plates:
- Pastoral Chicago (3 locations) – the founder is the head of the American Cheese Society Hop Ruiter on tap at the wine bar and Witkap on special in all 3 retail locations
- The Fred in Atlanta – cheese, frites, charcuterue and pate with a flight of 4 beers (no live link for the event at this writing)
- Strangelove’s Memphis Taproom (and 5 other Leigh Maida and Brendan Hartranft spots) in Philly: DiBruno cheeses – rinds washed with our beers
- Waterzooi on LI – fondue made with Avril and paired with any or all and Dupont Beers
- Poutine (it has cheese curds after all) Fest at Saus in Boston – This sold out in 3 hours
- Skal a great new Icelandic resto in NYC is serving lamb sandwich and arctic char paired with Lava on tap and featuring a Lava smoked imperial stout cocktails in a seaside cottage setting
- Lucky Baldwins (both locations in Pasadena are doing flights of 4 beers and 4 cheeses as well as pairing their menu offerings with Vanberg & DeWulf beers http://www.

4) Multi Course Tasting Menus
- The most comprehensive and long lasting of the prix fixe sidebar menus is at Cafe Bruges in the college town of Carlisle PA. Their special menu was put up last month – Three courses $45 with Vicaris Tripel, Monk’s Stout, Posca Rustica leading up to a total tap takeover of all 10 taps on November 14.
- Mahogany Bar in Hattiesburg Mississippi 5 course chef tasting menu plus sour hour with some of our rarest beers
- Bazi Bistro in Portland has Posca Rustica, Moinette and Lambickx Kriek on the menus for a very affordable prix fixe menu at $35 (see menu below)

- Back Abbey in Claremont, California. The legendary Back Abbey Burger (made with aged Gouda) was actually inspired by a visit to Brasserie Dupont and Moinette. Pair them for the C2CT3.
- Anton’s in Kansas City, Missouri is pairing beers with their award winning steaks

9) Seafood Themes including Oyster Pairings
- L & E Oyster Bar in Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles is doing a seafood dinner with many beers from our collection – same owner will do great event in Montgomery Alabama at ElRey Burrito – Mexican fried chicken and waffles with our beer.
- The Publican, Chicago – 6 varieties of oysters paired with as many of the Vanberg & DeWulf beers
- Max’s Oyster – West Hartford, CT
- Small Bar Division, Chicago English beers from on tap – Gone Fishing, Rippa, Lurcher Stout
- Whole Foods from Newport Beach to New York City are stocking a variety of Vanberg & DeWulf beers – including Saison Dupont, La Biere de Beloiel, Scaldis Prestige, Foret, Lambickx and more. The NY Times has callled Saison Dupont about the perfect beer with your holiday bird. The Chicago Kingsbury location is holding a judged homebrew competition focusing on Belgian styles and a tap takeover with our beers that runs through the weekend
- All Total Wine stores nationwide are stocking every Vanberg & DeWulf Christmas beer: Avec des Bons Voeux, Scaldis Noel, Scaldis Noel Premium, Scaldis Prestige, Scaldis Prestige de Nuits and Vicaris Tripel Gueuze. There’s a great tap takeover at the Tukwila Washington store.
