About Matthias Trum
Matthias Trum is the 6th generation owner and brewmaster of Schlenkerla. He grew up and still lives today in the historic building that houses the brewery’s historic tavern in Bamberg, Germany.
He has studied both business and brewing science and majored in the history of brewing. Matthias became response for the brewery and the pub in 2003 and has focused on conversation and the rediscovery of historic brewing and malting styles. He hopes that one day one of his children will continue the long Schlenkerla family tradition.
