Skip Schwartz of WeldWerks Brewing Co. joins the Drink Beer, Think Beer podcast to talk about building recipes for stouts and sours with uncommon ingredients and how some of these beers are serving as gateways to other styles and flavors.
For the past year Schwartz has been working on the brewery’s Sparkler series, lactose-free sour beers with “three unique flavors, ones that are fruit or fruit adjacent along with a spice or specialty cooking ingredient.” Some of the beers in the series have been: Guava, white grape, and ginger; Raspberry, blackberry and macadamia nut; Cherry, lime, and vanilla; and Strawberry, watermelon and marshmallow.
Listen in as he talks about building out these beers and others and where he finds inspiration.
