The beer in our glass is an ever shifting intersection of local traditions, current trends, available ingredients, technological innovation, and of course, tax laws.
Déjà Brü 2024 – the homebrew competition remembering historic and long-forgotten beer styles – is an opportunity to experience brewing traditions from a different place and time. Whether it’s brewing with juniper and spruce tips, baking the mash, or simply exploring more expressive yeast strains, there’s a style that will expand your definition of beer and brewing.
In 2024, there are 49 accepted historic styles from around the globe, including: the Pennsylvania Swankey, the Danish Skibsøl, and the German 1350 Wurtzburg Mead (that’s right – we’re introducing a historic mead style!).
