About Dick Cantwell

Dick Cantwell was co-founder of Elysian Brewing in Seattle in 1996, where he was named Large Brewpub Brewer of the Year three times at the Great American Beer Festival. He received the Russell Schehrer Award for innovation and excellence in brewing in 2004, and has published four books related to brewing, including Barley Wine (with Fal Allen), Wood & Beer (with Peter Bouckaert), Eclectic IPA and the Brewers Association Guide to Starting Your Own Brewery. He is also an internationally recognized beer judge. He now lives in San Francisco and western Sonoma County in California, where these days he homebrews with his friends in his barn.
