Dry January has All About Beer editor John Holl thinking about alcohol alternatives. He’s not participating, but knows a lot of folks are. The hop water category is one that Holl has personally enjoyed as they are a great work afternoon refresher or third drink after two rounds of IPA.
One of the better ones Holl had last year is Albert’s Dry Hopped Seltzer, made by Virgil Gamache farms in Washington’s Yakima Valley. The fourth generation hop farm entered the beverage business last year with this offering – it’s available, by the way through their website and other online retailers – made it at Oregon’s Full Sail Brewing.
Darren Gamache joined Holl via zoom to talk about the seltzer, the hop industry, the ups and downs of farming, and offer a bit of insight on what this new year might bring.
