Maine LD 122—Standardized Pint Pours [Bill]
What it is: Every beer advertised as a pint would have to equal 16 ounces, no less.
What it means: No longer would beer drinkers have to contend with cheater pints, or 14-ounce glasses sold for the same price as full 16-ounce pints. Some organizations agree with the bill but contend that existing legislation, the Federal Trade Commission’s “truth in advertising” law, already exists to prevent short pours.
